Recycling
Eco Church
Having, of necessity, been a regular visitor the Dereham recycling centre recently, I have come to appreciate just how much ‘rubbish’ can be recycled: so called ‘rubbish sacks’ are checked by the attendants and recyclable items put in the relevant bins. We all know to recycle paper, cardboard, glass and garden rubbish but did you know that broken crockery can go in the rubble bin, electric cables and small electric appliances can be stripped down to reuse the metals. Any unwanted items which are usable can go into the reuse shop at the centre. Clothes and shoes can also be recycled, although many people prefer to take them to a charity shop. In Broadland we can of course leave small electrical items and flat batteries in plastic bags out to be collected by the bin men. Please think ‘recycle’ before consigning items to the rubbish wheelie bin.
