Caring for God’s Earth – Bronze Eco Church Award is getting closer!

Eco Church

We are now very close to getting the Bronze Eco Church Award! All it needs is for everyone to either do the lifestyle audit on the creation care website as suggested last month, (www.creationcare.org.uk ) or if you are short of time, then please do the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) lifestyle audit which only takes 5 minutes and, at the end, gives you an idea of your carbon footprint, with suggestions on how you should be able to reduce it. It also compares your carbon footprint with the British average which you may find useful.

The only problem with the WWF audit is that it is obviously not designed for people like us who live in rural parts where there are no trains and a very limited bus service compared to urban areas; also there is no way of saying that you walk or cycle wherever possible and only use the car when necessary: so take the travel section with a pinch of salt if you always walk or cycle around Reepham and only use the car for longer journeys. The online address is www.footprint.wwf.org.uk Do please give it a go if you are able to, and let me know that you have done it, so that we can claim our Bronze Award.

If you would like to do it but are not online, please let me know and I will print off the questions so that you can give written answers. If you could then get a friend or neighbour to do the footprint audit online for you that would be really helpful, or you could return your answers to me and I could do it for you. That way everyone can take part. RMR
